We use Google Firebase, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Neon Postgres to operate the Services and store account information and activity. Access is restricted to authorised services and operators, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

We use third-party services to enhance our functionality:

• Firebase (Google LLC) – user authentication, analytics, and data storage.
• Amazon Web Services and Neon – backend processing and database storage.
• TypeSafe (Jev) – automated review classification and harmful-content screening. We send review text and necessary movie context, without account identifiers, to assess submissions before publication and organise reviews.
• Google Analytics – to collect anonymized usage metrics.
• The Movie Database (TMDb) – to display movie metadata (we only read from TMDb; no user data is sent).

Written Reviews

Reviews follow your account and movie privacy settings. Public reviews are visible to other users; private reviews are restricted to authorised viewers. Pending safety checks are visible only to their author. We process review text, likes, reactions, reports, and appeals to provide reviews and prevent abuse. Automated assessment can make mistakes; you can edit a review or appeal a moderation decision in the app.

Raw review exposure events are retained for up to 30 days and pseudonymous exposure aggregates for up to 180 days. Restricted report and moderation records are retained for up to 90 days after closure. Deleting an account removes its reviews and related feedback from active systems; backup copies expire under the applicable backup retention schedule.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data as long as your account remains active or as required by law. You may delete your account at any time, which will permanently erase your profile, ratings, reviews, and comments from active systems, subject to backup expiry.
